Blue at Home - 5/7/2004 - End of the Line

Blue: G'day Don, Well after arriving back home to Perth, being away for a total of 89 days, I have started to settle back in.. The weather has been lousy for the first few days but ok now. Didn't see Daniel and Pamela on the w/e as it was Mother's Day so have just waited until Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday I went into my former work to catch up with my mates and to pay Norm for the ball caps etc I gave people as a thank you for hosting me. A big 'if' but who knows there just may be a job for me back there sometime, just have to wait and see now.

My car has played up on me whilst I have been away and I now need to new batteries which hopefully I will get today. A friend had loaned me the use of her car, a VW Beetle, neat little car indeed.

Last night my two little darlings were dropped off by their mother, late as usual but I bit my tongue. Great to see them, and after finishing their homework, I gave them the presents I brought back for them from the USA and England. Great to see two smiling faces again. Pamela has lost a few more teeth during my absence. I then showed them a slide show of the 700 odd photo's of my trip...Pamela decided at around 400 it was 'boring' but Daniel enjoyed the show.

This morning we were up at 0600 and I got them ready for school, platted Pamela's hair and took them back home to their Mother, awaiting Friday afternoon when I have them for the weekend. My fridge is looking pretty interesting with the magnets, I have missed a few places unfortunately, but that's life.

In a weeks time I will be moving house to next door but one, so will start getting ready for that move. I am toying with the idea of buying a guitar and learning to be Australia's version of Tommy Cox after experiencing such a fantastic show at John Bay's home. What a treat that was.

People have asked me what the highlight of my trip was, I have said to them that NYC, Washington DC, Tommy's concert and the Hunley event were. But, in fact THE highlight was meeting you guys and your families, something I will always treasure, always. Once again I would like to thank you all for making it so enjoyable, would love to do it again someday.

In the meantime, who is on their way to see me and Perth?

Blue *_*
