Subject: Tudor Davis obituary

Tudor Frederick Davis was born on May 16, 1924, as the oldest son of Tudor and Louise Davis of Pottsville PA. At 15, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked as a logger in Columbia Falls MT. In 1941, at 17, Tudor enlisted in the US Navy. In 1943, Tudor was assigned to USS Halibut (SS-232) and participated in Halibut's last 5 war patrols. Tudor continued his career in the Navy serving on a total of 9 submarines with his last being USS George Washington (SSBN-598), a pioneer in the Polaris Missile Program.

Tudor met Betty Marie Adams and they married in 1956. Together they raised Kathi, Mary, and Fred. Tudor spent 20 years in the Navy achieving E-7, Chief Torpedoman, submarine service. He retired from the Navy in 1961, then worked for Lockheed Missile & Space Co. In 1972 he moved the family to Battle Ground, WA.

In 1977 Tudor returned to Lockheed in Silverdale, WA. In 1987, Tudor retired from LMSC and returned to Battle Ground, WA. In 1997, the farm was sold and is now “Tudor's Glen”. His wife, Betty, of 51 years passed away in 2007 and Tudor never remarried. On May 16th 2024, Tudor celebrated his 100th Birthday! On Aug 27th Tudor fell and broke two ribs. On Aug 28, 2024, Tudor passed away. Tudor is survived by his Daughter, Kathi Garrison (Gene), Mary Williams (John) and Fred Davis (Melody); 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Friday September 13, 2024 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Tunnels To Towers or DreamFlights.org

  To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Tudor.

Tudor was a member of both Bremerton and Blueback bases.
