At random: Interests in submarines extends to royalty and presidents. The King of England and the King and Queen of Spain are among those who have made submerged cruises in submarines. As a result of a trip in an early United States submarine, President "Teddy" Roosevelt ordered extra compensation for personnel serving in the "Silent Service." President Harry Truman made a 440 foot dive in a captured German submarine. The first President to cruise aboard a nuclear submarine was President Eisenhower who rode the USS SEAWOLF out of Newport, Rhode Island on September 26, 1957.

My friend Anna and I took the day, yesterday, to goof around and have lunch and then we went up to visit with Jimi Hendrix. He didn't have much to say.

That's because he said it all with his guitar.

There isnt a smokeboat sailor that hasnt wanted to say "excuse me while I kiss the sky" after a long day with bad air at depth.

Hey Bill,
The Woodstock Concert was just down the road a piece from where we lived. I saw Jimmy playing there. Did you get there?

Joe,

I was at 125ft, doing about 4kts, making a hole in the ocean.  I read about it on the news clipboard the radiomen would circulate -- I couldn't believe it.  Biggest party of the century and I'm out-of-town!

Hector's was one of my favorite bars up there in the mountains.  He had Schaeffer deliver a semi full of warm beer just before the roads closed and sold every drop of it!  He made a bundle of money but still kept the dirt floor in the bar.....

Kilcoins was another great bar near there.  He could do some great magic tricks!
