The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

WIGGIN .. .. .. William Gene Wiggin, 97, passed away peacefully at home in Greenwich on March 5, 2025. He was born on November 5, 1927, in Lima, OH. William grew up in Zanesville, Ohio with his four siblings. He was an active member of his community from a young age. In 1944, he was honored to be voted President of his high school.
He attended Ohio State University and served his country in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947, as a Machinist Third Class aboard the U.S.S. Tilefish submarine. He remained dedicated to his fellow servicemen and was a lifetime member of the 9th District Veterans.
On December 24, 1963, William married Josephine. In 1968, they settled in Greenwich, CT, where they built a loving home and family. William had a successful 25-year career in the personnel industry, serving as Vice President of Olsten Temporaries in White Plains, NY, until his retirement. Sailing was his favorite passion. He would often be on the water or at the beach, finding peace and joy in the Long Island Sound.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Josephine Wiggin, and his four children: Jeffrey, Nancy, Mejo, and Billy. He was a cherished grandfather to Tyler, Macy, and Owen Hauck. William will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and neighbors, who will remember his kindness, warmth, and dedication to those he loved.
A Wake will be held on Wednesday, March 12th, at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Road #3, Greenwich, CT, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 13th, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary Church of Greenwich, located on Greenwich Avenue. A Burial will immediately follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY, where William will be laid to rest alongside his son, Robert.
