The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

STARKE .. .. .. Donald W. Starke, 82, beloved husband of Ann (Rabuck) Starke of Nashua, NH, formerly of Unionville and Cheshire, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Bay Shore, Long Island, NY, to the late C. Newell and Elizabeth (Phillips) Starke, he was raised in Amityville, NY, where he was active in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After one year of college, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service, serving from 1963 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Connecticut. While in college, he became an EMT and volunteered with the Storrs Ambulance Service.

Don built a successful career in sales, financial planning, and financial training, mentoring staff and marketing professionals before retiring as a Regional Sales Manager with SBLI. He and Ann were among the church's original families at Valley Community Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and helped in coordinating the Faithful Hands Ministry. Even during his lengthy illness, he remained dedicated to helping others through the ministry, reflecting the quiet strength of his faith.

An avid reader with a particular interest in American history, Don especially enjoyed hiking and walking with his daughter Kristen and golfing with his son David. He cherished time with his grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as "Other Biggie."

Besides his wife, Ann, he leaves his daughter, Kristen Starke Atabay and her husband, Efe, of Dunstable, MA; two grandchildren, Axel and Adele; his sister-in-law, Mary Starke; and his nephew, Andrew Starke. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, David Jonathan Starke; his brother, Wayne Starke; and his nephew, Bryan Starke.
