The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.
I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.
CALZINI .. .. .. Joseph Calzini was a man of great courage and honor. While in his youth he was a playful, daring, funny young man who played football for Wellseley High School, he quickly became a man who served in the Navy during the Second World War, as the helmsman of the Pogi (submarine). Upon his return home to his wife Irene, he continued to serve his country and risk his life for others as a fireman for the Wellseley Fire Department and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. His life was truly remarkable and worthy of admiration and emulation. In his end years he continued to inspire others to greatness, leaving behind a family who will forever call him hero.
