Richard Raymond Ristow Age 87, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born December 18, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Richard and Hazel (LeBlank) Ristow. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard a submarine and a destroyer from 1958 to 1963 as an electronics technician. He worked at A.O.Smith in Milwaukee for 42 years, retiring at age 60. Richard married Cheryl J. Friedrich and they shared 40 years of marriage until her death on December 17, 2008. Together they raised four sons: Danny, Richard, Timothy, and James. He loved to hunt and fish. He liked flea markets and trains, collecting train memorabilia, and was an avid reader. He enjoyed tending to his flower gardens. He liked to try his luck at penny slots and played Sheepshead weekly with a group for over 50 years. He was generous with thrift stores. He disliked anything sweet and loved unusual meats. Richard attended St Marcus Evangelical Lutheran Church as a young boy and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church after his marriage to Cheryl. He was a man of strong faith who trusted in his Savior and knew that this earthly life was temporary and that, through faith in Jesus, he would spend eternity in the presence of God. He is survived by his sons, Danny (Sandy), Richard, Timothy (Jamie) and James: His grandchildren Daniel (Kim) Tyler (Katie), Kyle, Heather, Gabriel, Seth, and Hailey: and his great-granddaughter Adriana. He is further survived by his sister Jeane and his beloved friend and companion, Sharan Zelinski. He was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl, his parents Richard and Hazel, and his sisters Joan and Janice. BANEY .. .. .. Dr. Richard N. Baney, Sr. passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026. Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA, the youngest son of Mary and Emmet Baney. Richard, or Dick as known to friends and family, grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Central Catholic High School and received a full four-year scholarship to attend Georgetown University, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in 1958. Richard earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1963. Following his internship at the VA Hospital and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as a medical officer on the submarines USS Andrew Jackson and USS Kamehameha (and was a plank owner on the latter) and as an active reservist until 1970. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh before moving his family to Florida to plant roots in Brevard County, first in Titusville and then Melbourne in 1976. In Titusville, he served as president of the medical staff at Jess Parrish Hospital and then moved to Melbourne where he joined Melbourne Internal Medicine Associates (MIMA) and served on the board of directors of Holmes Hospital. Richard left practice in 1999 and phased into retirement, spending ten years as a medical officer on Lindblad’s Endeavor cruise ship as it traveled around the world. Richard was very active in community affairs. He was instrumental in attracting Sea Pines Hospital to Melbourne, was a founding director and chairman of Reliance Bank and Bank Brevard and served as a trustee of Florida Tech for 34 years. His other leadership roles include serving as President of the Brevard County Medical Society, on the boards of DBA Systems, Opto-Mechanik, Suntree Country Club, and as the Commodore of the Eau Gallie Yacht Club. Richard had a great appreciation of U.S. and world history and collected antique maps and classic movie posters. He also enjoyed numerous European bicycling trips and golf trips to Ireland. He had a life goal of achieving a single-digit golf handicap (full disclosure: he never got close). Richard ran his first of three marathons at the age of 52. Richard was predeceased by his wife and the love of his life, Carolyn. They met at the University of Pittsburgh when he was a medical student and she was a lab technician and they were married for 62 years. He is survived by his four children – Richard Baney, Jr. (Anne), Michael Baney (Nancy), Marisa Baney Jensen (Jeff), Brian Baney (Bonnie) – nine grandchildren and former daughter-in-law Holly Baney. McLARTY .. .. .. William Theron McLarty, Jr., M.D. of Vinings, Georgia, died September 11, 2026, in Atlanta. He was 84. At the center of his life was his enduring marriage to Donna Wilson McLarty, whom he reconnected with at the University of Mississippi in 1963 after first meeting in high school. They married on August 1, 1964, and shared fifty-eight years together until her death in 2022, raising three daughters and a son in Atlanta. Theron loved his family, and he loved his patients, devoting his professional life to their wellbeing through his psychiatric practice. After medical school and service as a Navy medical officer on a submarine, he came to Atlanta in 1970 to complete his psychiatric residency at Emory University. Theron then joined the newly established Ridgeview Institute in Smyrna, Georgia, in 1976 as the Adult Unit Medical Director and subsequently built a long and distinguished psychiatric practice. He served as president of the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association from 1981 to 1982, was named Georgia's Top Psychiatrist in 1987, and later worked with players through the NFL Players Association. Born July 20, 1942, in Oxford, Mississippi, to Pauline Mills McLarty and William Theron McLarty, Sr., he attended University High School, where he was quarterback, senior class president, and "Mr. UHS." He went on to study at the University of Mississippi, first in chemical engineering and then in medicine. During the university's desegregation, he was James Meredith's laboratory partner. He and Donna joined Northside Drive Baptist Church in 1981. He loved music, family gatherings, supporting and touring with the Atlanta Boy Choir, golf, travel, Kiawah Island, New Orleans, and the Ole Miss Rebels. He greeted fellow alumni everywhere with a hearty "Hotty Toddy." He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, and his parents. He is survived by his four children, Jessica (Gigi) Collins of Atlanta, Jennifer Sardone of Smyrna, Janna Chandler of Marietta, and William Theron McLarty III of Marietta; and ten grandchildren: Liam, Henry, Aidan, and Grace Collins; Cameron Sardone; Emma, Eleanor, and Austin Chandler; and Greta and Elliott McLarty. PRICE .. .. .. Warren Eugene Price, 93, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026 with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Scott(Beckee) and Kelly(Michael); his eight grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren. Warren was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 28, 1932 to Clifford and Irene Price. He attended Andrew Jackson High School. After graduation, he joined the Navy serving on a submarine. Following his military service, he attended Jacksonville University, graduated and began a long successful career at Southern Bell/Bell South. During this time he was also an active member of Toastmasters International. After retiring from Bell South he spent several years with Watson Realty. Warren was a life long resident of Jacksonville. In 1980, he joined the Westside Kiwanis Club and was a faithful member for nearly 40 years. He especially liked working the “Old McDonalds Farm” exhibit at the Jacksonville Fair. His devotion to family and kindness will remain with us always. ROSS .. .. .. James E. Ross was born July 16, 1944, in Concordia, Kansas, to Alfred and Viola Ross. He went to his Heavenly home on Sept. 7, 2026, at the age of 82. Jim attended Lovewell School, later moving to Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School. His classmates were a wonderful group of friends! He attended Kansas University before proudly serving his country in the Navy. He was aboard a nuclear submarine, the USS Snook. Jim's younger years were spent enjoying sports and cars with his buddies. Football gatherings were a must during pro season. Much like his mother and siblings he enjoyed time in the kitchen cooking and baking. He enjoyed golf when he was able bodied. His love for music carried over to his children. Later years brought him to love movies, coin collecting and reading on his deck while soaking up the sun and being on the computer reading the news and playing games. Most valued was his time with family and friends. Proceeding him in death were his brother, Donald Alfred; his loving parents, Alfred and Viola Ross; cherished grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Left to morn his absence on earth are his children, Shane (Marie) Ross of Garden City, Kansas, Tisha (Scott) Miller of Nebraska City, Nebraska; grandchildren, James (Erin) Ross, Michael (Meghan) Bradley Jr., Cortney (Dalton) Flock, Sarah (Micheal) Crawford, Davon (Darla) Beach, Riley (Sydney) Templin, Luke (Allyson) Templin, Aaron (Ellen) Miller, Hayden (Abigail) Miller, Ben (Josie) Miller, Blake (Morgan) Miller; 12 great-grandchildren; brother John (Karen) Ross of Mankato; and sister, Deanna Naddy of Hampshire, Tennessee; his best friend since high school and partner in shenanigans, Richard (Linda) Benson of McPherson, Kansas; special nephews, nieces, family and a host of friends. | ||
