Been a long while since I've thought about the monthly ritual. The occasional panic of missing that one bill in the pile of envelopes. Do I have enough stamps/checks? Licking envelopes. Misplaced my professional "PARKER" silver ballpoint bill paying pen decades ago.
Other than with us, will those fun time memories be soon forgotten forever?

I can't even remember the last time I wrote a check!

I wish I couldn't remember.  Unfortunately the gardener, and cleaning lady don't take Zelle, or PayPal. Old habit is I hate  to pay anything over $40 with cash - I'm too lazy to withdraw it from my credit union.

I also wrote a check for a car, $35,000. Had to replace my 2018 Charger Scat Pack that was stolen 1/4/26. It's been in the police impound as a result of it being used in a shooting. A big pain in the ass.

I've lost both a car and a motorcycle to theft - yes it sucks and you always financially lost no matter how good your insurance is I think.   Plus the hassle factor... plus the "too long on the job cop" who thinks you may have had something to do with it

The vehicle was a 12 year old Suburban that was in mint condition as I babied it big time.  When I took the insurance money all the other 12 yr old Suburbans I could find or others in the price point were all run-down junk.   Oh well...

I've got you beat Don.  I've lost two cars and one motorcycle.  Granted your bike was probably a Harley.  I lost my '87 Honda in Mexico.  The good news was theft insurance covers he holder 50 miles into Mexico, and State Farm gave me a more than fair replacement value.

I'm going to write a personal check today to pay my copay for my E.R. Visit in November. The hospital billed Medicare instead of the V.A. Now I'll have to deal with Community Care to get reimbursed. Why do they always take the easy way?
