FRITINGER .. .. .. Arthur B. Fritinger, 99, of Elyria, died Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Wesleyan Village.
He was born September 16, 1925 in Ravenna, Ohio and was a 1947 graduate of Painesville Harvey High School. He had been a thirty six year resident of Painesville and had also lived in North Ridgeville, Ocala, Florida and in Village Meadows, Sheffield Village before moving to Wesleyan Village in 2021. He was a US Navy veteran having served in the submarine service during WWII in the South Pacific. Arthur was employed in plant maintenance and as a construction engineer for Uniroyal Chemical Corp, Painesville, Ohio from 1947 until his retirement in 1987. His hobbies included; woodworking, gardening, water color painting, reading, golf, bowling, fishing and playing cards.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janice R.; sons, Larry (Judy) and Paul (Mary) Fritinger; daughter, Amy (Clare Paul) Fritinger; step-sons, Thomas (MaryBeth) Williams and Bruce (Jennifer) Williams; step-daughters, Diane Traxler and Linda Batovsky; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Thomas and Eleanor Leggins.
He was preceded in death by wives, Myrtle and Ruth; son, William Fritinger; daughter, Teresa Fritinger; parents, Frank and Fannie; brother, Ernest Fritinger; and a step-son, Alex Williams.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wesleyan Village for their loving care; they never wavered in their dedication and concern for him and the staff of Elara Hospice for providing comfort and support to their family in his final weeks.
A memorial service will be Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Wesleyan Village, 807 West Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Kurt D. Walker, Chaplin will officiate. Inurnment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. Arrangements are in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
